Veteran NFL wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has signed a new contract with the Miami Dolphins. Beckham Jr. spent the 2023 season with the Baltimore Ravens. He has spent previous seasons with the Los Angeles Rams, Cleveland Browns and New York Giants. He is most famously known for his insane catch in New York, but has quietly been a productive receiver when healthy.

The Giants selected Beckham Jr. with the 12th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. Despite missing most of the preseason process with a hamstring injury, Beckham Jr. dominated as a rookie. He led the team in targets and receptions and had over 100 yards a game. 1305 yards and 91 receptions were enough to win Offensive Rookie of the Year and be named to his first Pro Bowl. Beckham Jr. followed that up with a solid second year, recording 1450 yards and 96 receptions. He was eighth in the league in receptions and fifth in yards. He was named to the All-Pro Second Team, and another Pro Bowl.

2016 was probably the last time we saw OBJ at the peek of his powers. 101 receptions were a career high. 8.1 yards per target, ten touchdowns, it felt like OBJ had arrived and wasn’t going anywhere anytime soon. The NFL selected him for another Pro Bowl, and the sky was the limit. Instead, 2017 was a disaster. He had an ankle fracture and spent the season on IR. The Giants organization committed to Beckham, signing him to a five-year $95 million extension heading into 2018. He was still productive, but a far cry from his 2015-2016 seasons. The Browns traded for OBJ ahead of the 2019 season, where he would spend two years with all sorts of off the field fun. 2021 he would move to the Los Angeles Rams with three games left in the season, and was an important part of their playoff stretch. He unfortunately tore his ACL in the Super Bowl, and sat out the 2022 season to recover. Beckham was a valuable role player for the Ravens in 2023.
