Kansas City Chiefs Rashee Rice Finds Himself in More Trouble

The 2024 NFL offseason has not been a productive one for Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice. A second-round pick out of SMU in the 2023 NFL Draft, he cemented his status as the go-to receiver for Patrick Mahomes by the end of the season.

In 16 games and eight starts, he caught 79 passes for 938 yards and seven touchdowns. He was first among all wide receivers in those stats by a wide margin and only trailed star tight end Travis Kelce for the team lead.

Alas, there are real concerns about how much Rashee Rice will be on the field for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2024. In March, he was arrested for his involvement in a multi-car crash that left at least seven people with injuries.

As shared by ESPN, “He is facing one count of aggravated assault, one count of collision involving serious bodily injury and six counts of collision involving injury, according to police.”

Prior to getting into the crash, Rashee Rice was reportedly driving 119 miles per hour down a Dallas freeway. Weaving in and out of traffic, several aggressive driving maneuvers were done as well.

Now, Rice is facing some issues again in Dallas. Police confirmed to the Dallas Morning News on Wednesday that he is a suspect in an alleged assault that left a man injured at a Dallas nightclub earlier this week.

“The newspaper, citing law enforcement officials, reported that officers were dispatched early Monday morning to the nightclub after reports of an assault. A man was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, including swelling on one side of his face, the officials told the Morning News.” As shared by ESPN.

As of yesterday afternoon, no charges had been filed for the incident. The Kansas City Chiefs had no comment on the situation, while Rashee Rice’s attorney declined to comment to the newspaper.

A very talented player, these character and behavioral concerns plagued Rice coming into the draft. As shared by user Carrington Harrison on X, a scouting report revealed that many NFL teams had taken him off their draft boards because of it.
