Girls, grab your boards and head to the etnies skatepark in Lake Forest, California, this Saturday, May 11th and join the fun at Exposure's latest 'Skate Rising' event. If you're between the ages of 4-16, the Exposure crew is inviting you to learn to skate, do some crafts and hang with some pro skaters for a fun-filled afternoon of ripping.

The event will be taking place between 10am-noon and if you need to borrow a board and pads, they have you covered! All abilities and skill levels are welcome, and honestly, it's bound to be a good time whether you choose to skate or not!

In addition to all the skating and fun, they're also encouraging folks to bring canned goods to donate to Families Forward, a nonprofit in Irvine who help combat family homelessness. Good stuff all around!

If you've never been to an Exposure event, you should make it a point to attend. Olympian (and all-around epic human) Amelia Brodka and the entire Exposure team who put on these awesome events are really at the forefront of empowering girl skaters of all ages to feel the stoke and fall in the love with skateboarding the way we all have.

From their annual contests at Poods Park in Encinitas, to these 'Skate Rising' events and all the local community building they take part in, it really all boils down to just that—building a community. And I'd say they've certainly succeeded.

Check the flyer above for more details and mark your calendars! It's going to be a good time.
