Barcelona are leaning towards signing Girona forward Pau Victor this summer, after a successful season on loan at Barca Atletic. The Blaugrana have a €3m buy option in his contract, and they hope to execute it.

The chief caveat is that it will depend on whether the money is available for Victor this summer, as per MD. The 22-year-old has convinced manager Rafael Marquez and the club that he is worth the investment, and is top scorer in their Primera RFEF group, which Barcelona currently sit second in.

Victor also has four assists to his name, and has been one of the driving forces behind Marquez’s successful second season in charge of the filial side. His goals have led him to be called up by Xavi Hernandez to the senior side, although he was an unused substitute on the five occasions he was called up. Of course, part of their strategy may be to sign him permanently and then sell him at a profit. It seems more likely that 18-year-old Marc Guiu will be part of the senior side if Vitor Roque leaves on loan this summer.
